Although the flight with BA left London about 20 minutes late, it arrived on time in Singapore. They gave us dinner after we took off and breakfast when we landed. We both watched a film and then had a good night's sleep in the horizontal beds that BA has in business class.
Singapore's airport was very efficient - we were out of the airport less than 30 minutes after our aircraft landed. There was no queue for a taxi and we reached our hotel (Goodwood Park Hotel) in about 20 minutes. The roads in Singapore are much wider than anything we saw in the UK.
After a shower, we explored the hotel and then went for a walk down Orchard Road which is only a block away from our hotel. There was plenty of activity in the streets because the shops don't close until 9pm or later.
We found a delightful coffee shop (Cova) in one of the shopping centres for dinner. The fish dish that I had was beautiful. I've been eating fish regularly lately and this was the best fish that I've had in the entire holiday.
Our hotel is luxurious and spacious. Our bedroom is huge compared with any of the hotels and B&Bs we have stayed at elsewhere on our holiday. It is a welcome change from the B&B in London which was like an obstacle course just to get from one part of the room to another. This was like going from the ridiculous to the sublime.
